Donated Car Awarded
Folks, you may recall we were given a car from my daughter Kerri for the sole purpose of it going free to a needy family. We received 23 responses and beautiful e mails requesting consideration. I wish I had 23 cars as all candidates qualified, but the committee could only choose one winner.
Today, my daughter handed the keys to the winning candidate we will call Mary. Mary lives in New York State and is a single mom with a 13 year old daughter and a 12 year old son. The profile of Mary as submitted by her very caring sister Louise is noted below for your review.
Right to left-Kerri, Mary, Daughter Jane, Mary's sister Louise in green top.

In addition to receiving the auto, an anonymous donor has agreed to make any necessary preventative repairs to the vehicle to the tune of $1,000 to send Mary and the kids on their way with this fine automobile.
We hope you agree with the committee on their selection of Mary. Selection from 23 candidates of the most needy is the most difficult part of this Ministry, but it is really determined by the Holy Spirit.
I would have a great need for the Ford Explorer
because my younger sister desperately needs help. She
has 2 young children and about 4 years ago she was
diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. She had been
working and doing well until about a year ago when she
had to leave her job because of the extreme stress.
She worked with mentally impaired adults --set up
group homes for them and pretty much ran the whole
show, but because of the pituitary tumor and the fact
that she is also bi-polar -- her doctors are having a
very hard time regulating her medication, which made
her job extremely hard to continue. She is now on
disability and does volunteer work. She is divorced
and lives in an old farm House that is in terrible
shape. My husband is basically re-building the house
for her --her roof had to be replaced, her kitchen
floor had so much dry-rot that it was literally
falling through to the basement so he had to build
supports for that. Now on top of everything else, the
engine in her jeep blew leaving her with no car. We
have been trying to help her as much as we can
financially but we've pretty much spent all our
savings trying to make her house livable and safe and
now can't do much about her car, so if she were to get
your daughters explorer that would help her out
tremendously! My husband is a mechanic so he can take
care of all the maintenance on the car that's needed.
I know you have many people that need help and many
that are probably worse off than my sister so I want
to thank you for any consideration you can give her
for receiving this generous offer. And as always,
thank you for all the wonderful things you do!
