New Electric Chair delivered
You may recall we received a gift of a $6,000.00 new electric wheelchair to enable someone in need of mobility to enjoy it now and in the future. After receiving several responses for such a gift, a committee of 7 HDHM folks made the difficult decision to reduce it to one candidate whose introductory note from a family friend is below.
Dear Mr. Brady,
I received your e-mail from my friend and said this HAS to be an e-mail from God. My name is XXXXX and I am writing to you on behalf of my friends Dan and Sandy. Dan had a stroke about a year ago at the young age of 43 which has left him paralyzed on the left side. Since this incident the two have had many trying hardships. Dan has not been out of the house for a year except to go into the hospital since the stroke. They live in a two story home so it is very difficult for him to get around. He is confined to one floor and basically one room, the bedroom. The simple things in life such as using the bathroom and eating meals have become extremely difficult without move ability. Sandy has tried to get help but has had no luck. Medicare even told them it was a two year waiting time to even get accepted for medical coverage. Sandy and Dan have two children and get very little help from SSI with finances/money or other necessities. Sandy is the only one working so there is no extra money for things needed. Dan has recently gotten to the point of giving up on life due to the fact that he has been confined to the house for over a year. Sandy constantly struggles with taking care of him because one person can only do so much and be so strong. She tries to keep it together for the kids but it is an extremely painful battle. I have personally taken it upon myself to buy wood to build a ramp for Dan so he can get out of the house and regain hope for life. I have even been on EBay looking for an electric wheelchair within my price budget because I am not that much better off than Sandy and Dan but it is something he desperately needs. This electric wheelchair will make things more bearable for them and maybe even Sandy will get a chance to stop crying for a few days. If you can please help Dan rekindle his spirit by being able to move around and do things like watching his children play outside, or even get out of the house in case of an emergency while Sandy’s at work, it would be so greatly appreciated. Sandy needs an angel right now so I hope your ministry, which I’ve heard nothing but good things about, can help. God Bless.

Ramp building Saturday Sept 22, 2007
Dan is now in re-hab and will return in 5 days to find the surprise of the ramp and the electric chair. This will be an exciting day for his return home to be with his wife and two young children who miss him terribly.
I want to thank personally Mr. Ken Christensen for such a fabulous gift in the name of the Holy Spirit.
It is stories like this one that keeps this Ministry motivated to do good for as many folks as possible, and with your continued support and encouragement we will have many more success stories like this.
